DoD Transportability Engineering

MechSim provides Transportability Engineering services to the Department of Defense and Defense Contractors. According to SDDCTEA Pam 70—1, "Transportability is the inherent capability of an item or system to be effectively and efficiently moved by required transportation assets and modes."  MechSim’s senior transportability consultant is the author of Pam 70-1 as well as many other authoritative guiding documents and studies currently used by the Department of Defense.  We offer the following transportability engineering services:

  • Developing transportability criteria
  • Providing transportability guidance
  • Writing, reviewing and verifying transportability requirements
  • Designing, witnessing and evaluating transportability testing
  • Facilitating successful design for transport using computer modeling and simulation
  • Conducting studies to quantify the current and future state of the worldwide defense transportation infrastructure
